SERVICES PROVIDED BY LED CITY

In the turn of the new decade, lighting has one clear technology as the go to solution for commercial and residential construction projects: LED (Light Emitting Diode). LED lights are now more affordable and becoming increasingly popular as everyone plays their part to reduce their electricity consumption.

Lighting is an integral part of any space. Builders, architects and interior designers have equally stressed on the importance of good lighting. There is no set rule for “good lighting”. It entirely depends on the user’s needs and requirements. It depends on what effect the space must have on its users and, how and when it will be used. By having a conversation focused on these points, we are one step closer to get you the right kind and amount of lighting for your chosen space(s).

A good place to start when considering a new lighting design is looking at the standard for that space. For example: classrooms, one would want to ensure that light is uniformly distributed throughout the room, especially on the desks of teachers and students. Lighting standards for a warehouse would be quite different, where the lighting design could be centered more on the shelves.

LED CITY is an expert in the field of lighting design. In lighting design, the focus can vary from aesthetics, practicality, or even just low cost. At LED CITY we identify your needs and requirements and work to ensure that you get the best lighting solution for any application.

Lighting Simulations

Lighting simulations are one of the easiest ways to ensure a good design and render what type of lighting a user will experience. We use advanced simulation software to create a lighting design based on user requirements and industry standards. We propose efficient lighting solutions by including the use of natural lighting, energy efficient LED fixtures and reduce the number of existing fixtures (if any); resulting in reduced costs. Careful balance of heat gain and loss is achieved by our expert team, along with glare control and enhanced visual quality.

We provide lighting simulation services in any one of the 2 ways:

1. Using an existing . DWG file provided by the customer

If you already have a DWG file for the area that is under lighting redesign consideration, then we use the same DWG file, to determine the lighting requirements of the area. By using the IES files for each of the fixtures in the DWG file, we create a new simulation. The new simulation ( or new DWG file), contains the new lighting solution proposed by LED City to fulfil the same lighting requirements with reduced fixtures and better quality LED fixtures, thereby saving electricity costs.

2. Provide Lighting requirements by answering a questionnaire

In case there is no existing DWG file for a particular target area, you will be required to fill out a questionnaire. You will be required to provide the details about

a) The application for the target area. If it is being used as a warehouse or parking lot, classroom or conference room, dining room or bedroom.

b) Lighting requirements within the target area. In what parts of the room is the light required? If the light is required on the walls or shelves in a classroom; whether simple lighting is required on the cars in a parking lot or the light is required to penetrate inside the cars.

c) The brightness level at different locations in the target area. This can be assessed by answering simple questions as the finish of floors and ceilings, paint on walls (matte/glossy) and the color of walls.

d) The natural lighting in the target area. This can be found out by determining which way the building is facing, the number of windows in the area and the number of doors.

New Fixture Design

Given our vast experience with product design and manufacturing, LED City can help with designing a fixture for a project. Designs can be submitted to our engineering team with a CAD, sketch, drawing or even just a photo. Designs can incorporate LED+Driver integrated solutions, or it can be a lamp ready solution. All custom designs come with our guarantee on quality and workmanship. The typical process includes:

Design
Draft
Review and Finalization of Draft
Sample Production
Review and Finalization of Sample
Production
Quality Assurance + Inspections

Energy Management

LED City provides complete Energy Management and Consultation services to meet customer needs. Energy management is a simple breakdown of your current lighting versus the comparable LED option. The evaluation calculates energy savings, maintenance, bulb replacement, and other miscellaneous costs to provide a comprehensive analysis.

  • Initial Consultation
  • Energy Audit
  • Lighting layout recommendation
  • Economic payback analysis
  • Supply and installation management
  • Project financing and finalization

How this works?

We analyze the information obtained from you during the initial consultation regarding the application and lighting usage. We visit the area, check the brightness levels and interview the people currently working in those areas (if need be) regarding the lighting requirements. Current lighting levels will be compared with IES standards and new retrofit kits will be proposed. Energy saving using sensors and additional control methods will be proposed to further reduce energy consumption. For example, in certain areas in a warehouse where light is not required all the time, occupancy sensors can be used to light up the area as and when required.

We will also require information about your current lighting usage:

  • Number of hours per day required for lighting
  • Number of days per week required for lighting
  • Cost of energy or kW/h rate
  • Details on the wattage of current fixtures

LED City understands that your greatest concern is to control energy consumption and reduce energy costs. Transforming your lighting from traditional methods to LED lighting is usually constrained by budget limitations and high upfront costs. To overcome this issue we provide Return on Investment (ROI) analysis and financing services to help you save more energy at reasonable costs.

Value Engineering

Too often the new construction project’s focus is on design and not enough on cost. Purchasing lighting products specified by an architect can end up costing developers two to three times the amount that it should cost. LED City provides a free value engineering service for new construction projects to source comparable lighting products that are specified. Our specification engineering department by studying architectural plans for your project and propose comparable led lighting products.
Typically lighting fixtures are manufactured in the factories which are then sold to the distributors through a factory representative. Distribution companies then sell the light fixtures to the end user through
